Guide to the author table
Explanations for each of the columns in the author table are
given below. Note that some of the data published in the
table may not be correct - see italicised text below.
Name
The author's name is taken from the first paper that the
HelioIndex sofware finds that contains the author's ORCID
iD. The name is stored in the masterlist file. Please contact Peter
Young if you would like the format of your name to be edited. Note
that accents are removed in order to simplify string searching
in the software.
Affiliation
The author's affiliation is determined from their most recent
paper for which the ORCID iD is available. In most cases the
affilation string stored in ADS is converted to a standard,
shortened format that is listed under affiliation. For less
common affiliations, the ADS affiliation string is truncated
to 40 characters for display in the table. If the author has
moved institute since publishing their most recent article,
then the affiliation will not be correct.
Country
The author's country is extracted from the affiliation string
stored in ADS using string processing software. If the author has
moved country since publishing their most recent article,
then the country will not be correct.
Field
The journal keywords found with the author's articles are
processed to determine if the author predominantly belongs to
solar physics (S) or heliospheric physics (H) or both
(SH). This may not be accurate if there are few keywords.
Keywords
This displays the four most common journal keywords used by
the author, separated by semi-colons. The complete set of
keywords and their frequencies are given in the Keywords link
(see below).
Links
Four web links are given here. ORCID links to the author's
ORCID page; ADS links to a page at ADS that shows the results of
querying on the author's ORCID iD; Keywords links to a
table containing all of the author's journal keywords;
and Affils links to a table containing the list of the
author's affiliations during their career (derived from their
publications). If one or more of the affiliations is not in a
standard format (see comments above about affiliations), then
you may see the affiliation repeated multiple times due to
slightly different formats.
